Foobar2000 is my fave as well.

Good things come to those how can wait. Looking forward to the next plugin release(s). :)

Fellow adlibbers, have you seen this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Cosmic-Blooper-FM-synth-Sequencer-Killer-sounds_W0QQitemZ280144983233QQihZ018QQcategoryZ38071QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I have very mixed feelings on this one. It doesn't mention that FMKing is freeware..

@deus-ex: the next release will have a real config dialog with default volume/loop as well as a infobox-with-a-scrollbar. I'd also like to code a foobar 0.9x plugin (it's my fave player after all), but it doesn't have a pascal sdk; so a foobar plugin will take some time until i've ported/get a pascal sdk.

@DaNyL
adt2plug is truly the bomb! :) It surpasses adplug's replay accuracy, thanks to Subz3ro's player routines.
I have one or two little requests, though. Please crank up the plugins default volume, it appears to be to low in comparison to other plugins (e.g. adplug). Oh, and it would be nice if the plugin info screen would just use one single window, where the infotext is made accessable using a scrollbar (e.g. similar to adplug).
Could you please take a Foobar2000 v0.9x plugin version into consideration? OPLx (the author of Ganbatte!, a Winamp input-plugin for .d00/.d01 EdlibTracker modules) created a foobar2000 version of his plugin as well. If you are interested I could ask OPLx to lend you a helping hand (source code examples) in order to get a foobar2000 version of ad2plug of the ground.
At any rate, thank you very much. :)

forget a2tplug! try adt2plug!
while a2tplug is based upon subz3ro's example a2t-player;adt2plug is based upon adt2play; which means it play A2M, A2T , AMD, DFM, CFF, FMK, HSC, MTK, RAD, S3M, SAT, SA2, XMS using subz3ro's playcode.
avaible at dawork.synchronus.de
btw: there's still a bug with a few a2m files due to sixpack compression, but that will be fixed soon.

Elan: Regarding the spamfilter, Subz3ro have since a while been able to delete specific messages, we also delete some messages immediately by using some basic rules. I probably won't do much more about it, except eventually import the site into a content management system to be able to work with the page (much) more easily. We'll see what happens. I'm glad you people write in this "simple guestbook" like crazy though. :)

For anyne having that screeching when using real OPLs, Download and unzip, and then run this prgram from a dos bootdisk or windows 9x. This will let you change those 8 and 16 bit I/O recovery times settins I mentioned. Try the highest values from both, and work back from there.
DaNyL, coder from Germany. Saturday, 28th July 2007, 20:43
@vintaque: well; you could describe another dos-extender as another protected mode; you'll just have to try it. imho wdosx ran very nice under my old dos machine way back then. as i said : maybe this could cure some problems regarding opl-timing and keyboard lockups in pure dos. then again - maybe not. but it's worth a try ^^
HS, musician from USA. Saturday, 28th July 2007, 20:27
Vintaque, it does affect it...I just didn't have time this morning to play with it since I told a buddy I'd help him move. However, right now, since I don't have an AC adapter for the laptop, I'm having to go through the docking station to give it power...the first time I hooked it up, the docking station took over sound output so I could use the jacks in the back to hook it up to my speakers..however, I removed it once and when reattatched, the sound is coming out of the laptop instead, but the dock blocks the jacks! Kind of annoying and when you look up the computer on google, even using words like FAQ and help, you get nothing but stupid PC surplus store hits...so I can't figure out how to get my docking station to route the sound...frustrating to say the least. If you have any documents for the system, I'd love to look at them...
vintaque, opl3-geek from fi. Saturday, 28th July 2007, 18:11
HS: I haven't seen one on 98, but I chose minimal installation without sounds or sound drivers. I guess AT2 access directly to OPL so I don't know does these settings affect on it.
HS, another visitor from USA. Saturday, 28th July 2007, 16:00
Vantique - does your system have in the control panel a setting panel for OPL3 SAx? In there, you can choose different quality settings. They don't seem to change the oscillator thickness, but it does change the post EQ (seemingly) on the output. There's also a reverb you can add to the chip sound as well as overall quality to the sound. I haven't played with it much to see what exactly each setting does, though...
vintaque, opl3-geek from fi. Saturday, 28th July 2007, 13:31
HS: I dont think that the soundchip used on laptops has lower sound quality, but everything else (caps, amps, etc.) is not so high-fidelity. If you hear weird screeching, your settings are wrong.
DaNyl: Is there a version of AT2 in different protected mode? I really would like this thing to work in DOS, Win98 is so annoying...

(never mind the desert planet stuff.. tree wave is fm softsynth on c64 though (right?))
utabi is king of fm techno :)
those gathered playlists aren't very descriptive but nice collection. (only music I only found on CD or in mp3 though (I guess it's ok with warez since you can't get it outside of japan or out of print))
The S1 and B1 or END etc are from the very old and probably still unripped x68k doujin shmup Partial Axiom, music by Kamui Shihara (mp3s from his site which is gone now).. think he did gaiaseed ost later...
I can provide whole soundtrack if someone likes it.. other tracks aren't as good though..
M.S is very nice! some of the tracks are hifi but still nice for delicious FM synths :)
most of the anonymous lower case titles are by DRM from his DRMSXWorks.
if anyone is gathering similar playlists please share so I can extend mine! :U
I wish I could buy a copy of Shogun's new album... perhaps I should bother some poor japanese chipguy...
Have you heard Nest of Geese? More of the typical doujin musician (release cds for sale at conventions rather than free download on the net).
A bit exaggerated shootervgmish but really interesting and since I don't know anyone going to the M3 conventions I've only the free mp3 samples :/ worth a listen anyway.
Btw: does anyone know how that magic noise generation function of the last channel in OPM works?
in what trackers / vsti emulators is it made use of? (I've seen it talked about but forgotten where but wikipedia on "YM2151" mentions it atleast) I wonder if this is like getting a noise channel or if it can be used in modulation... it's specified here (http://www.rgp.nl/cx5m/fmunit.htm) aswell (only I don't savvy completely) and it looks like it can be used in modulation.. savvy person please confirm :)

HS, I was refering to the garbled noise problem I thought you mentioned having earlier. :)
I had that problem forever with my SB16 SCSI. The prgram would load, and play the most awful screeching noise if I tried to play something. (Populous did the same thing). The sound would hang if I closed out and would silence if I opend it again, but do it again igf I tried to play a song. I think it something to do with thwe data being sent to the card too fast. It was awhile before I discovered that the recovery time options were tied to the ISA bus.
HS, another visitor from USA. Friday, 27th July 2007, 21:53
@ DaNyL => yeah, that fixed it...went through and found it yesterday while poking through stuff...
@ Vintaque => I don't see anything about changing bits anywhere in my bios, only port settings.

BTW, anyone ever listened to GroundZero Organization? They don't use OPL3, but instead the OPM chip. Very impressive stuff...
Here's a couple of links...maybe will be some inspirado for you guys wondering what could be possible on OPL3 and AT2.
http://qt.or.tp/g0org/sounds/xp/fmdnb_20020603.mp3 <--Aphex Twin-Like DnB

Anyway, more music by them (some are OPM only, some use a PCM expansion for the x68k) are at their site...great stuff and really shows that with a bit of patience, you can get the FM doing nasty things...

...well: the OPL3-SAX is a combination of the normal opl3 and a soundblaster/wss clone.
It's an official yamaha chip; but it isn't interfaced using the isa bus.
Maybe subz3ro doesn't give the chip enough time to react. does the opl_latency setting you talked about change anything when changed to 1?
HS, musician from USA. Friday, 27th July 2007, 21:15
Moogle! => It's a noticeable difference in sound quality...well, character, really. It's almost like the oscillator(s) is skimpy...
It sounds very close, but the body just isn't as full. However, the OPL3-SAx is a different model number I believe...OPL3 (original) is YMF262...what's the OPL3-SAx? I couldn't find it via google...it has to be different in some way...possibly power requirements? Would this affect the chip's ability to create thicker oscillators?
Moogle!, another visitor from xcbsfdb. Friday, 27th July 2007, 15:06
HS, try going into the BIOS and looking for I/O recovery time. Set the 16 bit to 4 and the 8 bit to 8. This is often what causes that if swtiching the option in the .ini doesn't work.
vintaque, opl3-geek from fi. Friday, 27th July 2007, 11:30
HS: in Tecra you don't have acces to all BIOS-features that would help you get OPL3 working nicely.
The MP3 on this site probably sounds differend because there might be some compression and other typical audio processing done for the audio file. And it's from different OPL-chip, it could have been recorded from fancy AWE-soundcard instead of built-in laptop chip..:D
HS, another visitor from USA. Thursday, 26th July 2007, 23:17
nvm...changed the option that says "use this if having problems or using opl2"
Does this mean that I have an OPL3-SAx? I noticed my card sounds a bit different on the High Tech Environment song posted on this site. The pads and lead seem to not be as thick.
HS, another visitor from USA. Thursday, 26th July 2007, 22:44
Vintaque => I got at2 running right off the bat, but weird thing is...it doesn't play music, just noise! My files i made on an emulator sounded garbled and random...leaving it running long enough, you'd hear a multitude of stereo glitchcore...while cool and all, it's not what i want to make with the chip! :p
I'm trying to sort out the problem now...I don't understand what's going on. I ran it in both DOS and Win95 with same results.

I just got this idea: if you make a trigger input to spacebar you can use DINsync/Sync24 in AT2! Just add 6 steps for a 1/16th note (or 12 steps for Korg Sync48). There should be also some relay or transistor for run/stop-pin and clock-pulse.
Spacebar-playback doesn't support patternorder and some effects like tremor doesn't work, but you can sync it with nanoloop, prohet64, tb-303, tr-909...
I'll try this as soon as I get a extra keyboard to hack. Any tips for transistors/relays?
DaNyL, coder from Germany. Thursday, 19th July 2007, 21:28
I released a little tool, which should help make SID->ADT2 conversions easier. It is based on siddump and transcribes notes from the sidfile to ADT2 and to SYNDER patterns. You still have to use the siddump.txt to fix some bugs & to make instruments. http://dawork.synchronus.de
DaNyL, coder from Germany. Wednesday, 18th July 2007, 9:51
@elan: thank you very much ^^. but remember, that this isn't using all posibilites of synder. no phase distortion used. btw: to create some siddie tunes, leave the Waveform EMPTY and just change the pulsewidth. the pattern order editor will be the next to be implemented.
